Nashville Wedding Photography ◦ Cedarwood ◦ ELLEN & TERRY

When you see Ellen & Terry look at each other there is absolutely no doubt that they adore each other beyond words. Five years ago, on September 22nd, Terry was living in Oklahoma & Nashville while Ellen was living in Iowa. Ellen went down to Nashville with her daughter, Kirsten, to celebrate her bachelorette party and happened into Crossroads in downtown Nashville to enjoy some live music. Terry was in Crossroads watching his son, Trevor, live on stage. And well, I’ll let Ellen tell you the story…

“I noticed Terry and thought to myself, “There’s a good looking man!  He looks like Ed Harris!”  Then I figured out that he was Trevor’s dad because they so resembled each other.  I promptly dismissed any other thoughts, as I was there to have fun with Kirsten at her bachelorette party.  Awhile later I looked over and Kirst had Terry by the arm beckoning me toward them.  I gave her a “what do you want?” look and she gave me a “get over here now!” look!  Hahahaha!  So……over I went and she said, “Mom this is Terry….Terry this is my mom…..doesn’t he look like Ed Harris?!”!  (I had not spoken one word about Terry to Kirsten or anyone else, in reference to thinking he was good looking OR that he looked like Ed Harris!)  And, off she went, leaving us to ourselves…..and the rest, as they say, is history! It so surprised me because it was very out of character for Kirsten to introduce me to a man, especially at her bachelorette party. There were obviously greater forces at work….and Terry and I are eternally grateful!!!”

Five years later, again on September 22nd, Ellen & Terry walked into Crossroads. This time, hand in hand, as husband and wife.

Their first dance was to the Rascal Flatts song “Bless the Broken Road” and that song so perfectly describes their relationship. They have gone through a lot to get to where they are today but that road has brought many, many joys as well. Those joys were so evident on their wedding day, as they were surrounded by their parents, their children and even their grandchildren. What struck me over and over that day was how genuinely they love and care for those around them. The hugs, the tears, the smiles, the laughter…the people that were all brought together in one beautiful place because of the love of these two people.

Of course, their day was made magical by the amazing Cedarwood. Ellen & Terry split their time between Oklahoma, Nashville & Iowa and their wedding day reflected them so so well. Denim & Diamonds? What’s not to love!

This wedding was full of so many details and amazing moments. To enjoy even more, head on over to our Facebook page!
The love they have for their grandchildren is amazing. And I have to say, Ellen’s parents are AWE-SOME! I absolutely adore this moment Matt captured of Terry and his mom as they walk down the aisle. The moment they had waited for. Ellen’s son walked her down the aisle, so special. The outdoor cathedral at Cedarwood is breathtaking. So many gorgeous details.   Love a good celebration!   And of course, they had to have an after party at Crossroads! Ellen & Terry, your wedding day said so much about the wonderful people you are, the wonderful people you are blessed to call family and the wonderful love you cherish.
