There is absolutely no other way we would have wanted to ring in 2014 than celebrating it with Kylie & Derrick! This wedding was special to my heart, as Kylie was one of the very first people I met while moving into the dorms for my first year of college. I will never forget unpacking my things and seeing Kylie and her sweet mom stick their heads into my room with their famous smiles. Kylie quickly became a wonderful friend, sharing her infectious smile and positive attitude with all those around her. So when I found out that Kylie had met Derrick and was going to marry him, I knew he had to be a special man! From the moment I met Derrick, I knew he was perfect for Kylie and it’s been such a joy to see them embark on the adventure of living in St. Kitts while Derrick is in medical school. Kylie promised me way back in college that when she met the man of her dreams, I would photograph her wedding, so it was absolutely surreal when I walked into the room on the morning of her wedding to see her sweet face. We’ve both come so far since our college days and it was such an honor to document the truly great love she has found.

Kylie & Derrick met on New Years Eve, so it was only fitting that they celebrate their love with a New Years Eve wedding! Their motto in life, faith and love is “Let your Light Shine!” from Matthew 5:16 and I think you can see how evident that light is throughout this entire day…

Kylie and her mom share such a special relationship and I love that they were so intentional about spending the morning preparing together.
