A Spirited, Fresh, Timeless Life ◦ OUR HOPE-FILLED DIRT

How do you even begin to write about a journey that, at times, feels like it has made pathways across your whole heart? If you follow me on any sort of social media over the last two years you’ve probably seen pictures upon pictures of hill sides, wide open spaces and the breathtaking beauty that is the heart of Tennessee. For the last two years, we’ve been on what we affectionately call…a treasure hunt. Treasure hunts typically include a map and lots of gold at the end. Our treasure hunt has included no maps whatsoever and lots & lots of dirt.

So there are really no words to describe how it felt to finally find that little “X” on our non existent map. It’s taken 2 years of searching but God has given us a piece of His treasure to be stewards of – 11 acres of beautiful, peaceful, hope-filled dirt.

And if we thought the last 2 years were the journey? I think we are about to find out we’ve only just now found the trailhead. Next comes the building of a home, the planting of a garden, the attempts to learn how to keep chickens happy…and lots of what I did when I stepped out of the car and into our 11 acre yard yesterday – running with joy & wind in my hair, breathing in the freshest air and just smiling with an immensely thankful heart. Our journey has just begun.
