It’s day 4 of the (not so crazy) detox and all I can describe it as is a roller coaster. One hour I am feeling great- fresh, invigorated & ready to conquer the world with my wonderful singing voice. The next hour I’m feeling tired, pensive & just want a chicken fajita. Despite being at a bad carnival, I’m still a happy camper that we’re doing this. I see now just how much my body loves good food and how little I need the not so great stuff. This is not to say that I am becoming a raw vegan, sorry, no. But it does change my outlook on what I fill my body with. That kind of outlook is my end game.
So what are we eating? LOTS of smoothies, salads & water mixed in with the ever scrumptious (cue sarcasm) black beans, lentils, bee pollen, wheatgrass, hemp seed, flax seed, etc.
A few of my saving graces so far- guacamole, almond butter, grapes & (pictured below) my SPA WATER!
If you know me, you know there isn’t much I love more in life than the spa. Okay, there are a few things but indulge me here for a moment, I LOVE the spa. And what do they have at the spa?
CUCUMBER MINT WATER. If you haven’t tried it, you must. It’s the most refreshing, amazing thing since the invention of water.
1 cucumber, cut
5 sprigs of fresh mint
pitcher of filtered water
refrigerate
YUM!
Our latest smoothie creation (pictured below) :)
4 c. kale
2 oranges
2 bananas
2 tbsp. bee pollen
1 1/2 c. filtered water
makes 2 servings

Ok – I know this is so not the point of your post, but you have an amazing collection of vintage books!
Hope you are doing well! XOXO

Ok…I have been looking at your detox recipes and seen bee pollen as an ingredient to a couple. What is bee pollen and why is it good for you?
Tiffany,
(From “The Best of Raw Food”) Bee pollen contains 96 different nutrients, including every single nutrient that you need to live. It’s 40% protein, a natural energizer, slows down the aging process & lowers cholesterol levels. It’s know to relieve discomfort from PMS, boost the immune system & detoxifies your body. It alleviates allergies, improves endurance, strength & mental clarity. It promotes weight loss: the rate at which your body burns fat and it reduces cravings. It regulates your mood and helps control stress in your life.
