Nashville Wedding Photographer | KRISTYN HOGAN | Blog bio picture

KRISTYN HOGAN photographer

I consider it one of my greatest priviledges in life that I am asked to document the beauty, the life and the story of weddings and people in Nashville, Iowa and destinations all around the world.

This blog is filled with the stories I witness. Enjoy them. And then tell me your story.

nashville wedding photography | RACHEL + JASON

Oh, how I love zee weddings at zee homes. Rachel & Jason were married at Jason’s family home on Old Hickory Lake in Gallatin, Tennessee. It was such a gorgeous setting and we had so much fun capturing this day. Everyone was relaxed, there was so much love everywhere, the details were gorgeous and it didn’t rain until after the ceremony; can’t ask for much more! The day ran perfectly thanks to Nita and Miranda from Nashville Event Planning, we enjoyed fabulous food from Chef’s Market and left that evening smiling at what a wonderful day it was. It wouldn’t be a Kristyn Hogan wedding without capturing plenty of fabulous details and real moments :) I wanted to hug Rachel when I walked into the room she was getting ready in. So often this part of the day is overlooked and I absolutely love a bride who picks a well lit room with space for everyone to move about. The memories from this part of the day are so important and the location should reflect that. As I said, there was lots of love that day :) Rachel seeing her dad and Jason giving some love to his best friend, Grizzly. A prayer before the ceremony. It is so important to take moments out of the day to be still, reflect and soak it all in. The day goes by so quickly.
Rachel watching guests arrive.
Rachel & Jason had a bagpiper play on top of the widow’s peak of the house to announce the beginning of the wedding and then he led Rachel & her father down the aisle. Loved it! So happy to be married!
Cocktail hour. If you look closely you’ll see Jason, Rachel & Grizzly on the sailboat :) A first dance amongst cocktail hour. Rachel had 3 buttons from her great grandmother’s wedding gown sewn onto her bouquet. Thank you to all those who made this day fantastic!
