I had a conversation with my brother last week about goals. I’ve been writing down monthly goals for the last few months and have found that while I don’t necessarily always accomplish every single one of them each month, the intentionality of writing down goals has caused me to think more about what I want to do with my life and to work on actually living that life. He said his main goal this year has been to say “yes.” In the midst of the busyness of life, it’s so easy to make excuses, to say “no” to friends, family, experiences, rest, joy and as a result…life. His goal is to simply say “yes” more often. To time with friends, new experiences, fun, spending time actually living life. It was a much needed reminder, so thank you (not so) little brother. Your goal has inspired my one goal for August. Instead of 10 goals this month, just one. YES. Yes to soaking up the afternoon sun, laughing, faith without sight, working with passion and purpose, spending time with people I love, enjoying what I’ve been given and what I have to share. Yes.
