I am an artist at heart, which is why I became a photographer in the first place. I’ve had a heart for creating since I was a little girl and that fire in me still rages. It started with a coloring book and quickly became a giant sketch book full of floor plans for dinosaur houses (yes, you heard that correctly…think Flinstones meets HGTV) and then moved onto fashion designs, charcoal portraits and collages all before I was 13 years old. I picked up a real camera around the time I was 10 and amongst my quest to perfect the art of sketching, painting, graphic design, pottery, jewelry making and printmaking, photography won the race for my overactive heart. I preface this post with a little monologue about myself as an artist because when someone comes to me and is engaged AND is an artist or has a creative vision for their wedding photographs, my heart is theirs. Giving me the task and the freedom to create art for and out of two people in love is my purpose and my lifesong. Carissa and Aaron are two people who graced me with such an honor. Not only are they creative people, they’re pretty adorable too! I can’t wait for their Nashville wedding in July. I’d like to call this session “Flowing Manes” :) Carissa, you’re gorgeous times a thousand. Aaron, you’re pretty cool yourself :) Nashville wedding photographer, Kristyn Hogan, photographs the stories of beautiful people in Nashville, Iowa and around the world.
